Left about 745Am Saturday and went out about 19 miles out of mouth of river. The seas were little chopppy so it took about an hour to get to our area. Caught several small grouper at first spot but no keepers. Water temp about 82 and depth 35-38 feet. Bottom better but still had algea growth but not as much. This is same area we have fished all year.

Trolled over to 2nd hole and caught one keeper grouper on a green 30 f stretch. The first in few weeks caught trolling. No live bait but caught 2- 32 inch grouper. This was the cathch of the day both weighted almost 20 lbs. :lick:

Couldnt catch any live bait and we only had soft lys and no squid with a few spanish sardines. :( We needed live bait because we couldn keep the bait on. The bite only lasted about 30 minutes . I think we missed the bite on this reef. :( Ended the day with 6 keeper grouper, 3 caught trollling  On way back in we lost a big grouper trollin in 32 feet water. :( We caught all our fish by lunch.

Left early due to low tides at Ecofina . We also caught 2- 8 feet nurse sharks and decided to troll some more since the sharks showed up on the reef

The strangest was that one of the large grouper we caught had escaped capture; had a new circle hook in lip. Someone missed a 20 pounder  :P Good for us!
we probably caught about 8 right at the limit of 21 inches. Did catch legal reds but big boys were gags.
