I spent the last week of Sep. down at the island and then left thurs. for my anual trip to the Icky for my vacation. The weather was very cooperative this year except one day(wed.). Fished every morning up till around noon as to beat the heat. The water was still a little stained from the storm so I mainly concentrated in close around oysterbars. The fishing was good but not great. Reds were a lot easier to come by than the trout. Even though a had plenty of live bait(shrimp, finger mullet, and greenbacks) only one fish was caught on a livey. The rest were on new penny gulp under a cork. Caught 8-10 reds and only a handfull of trout for the time at SGI. I did manage to cross one fish off my bucket list. Coming in I pulled up on and tossed a live shrimp at a couple channel markers hoping to land my first triple tail. Low and behold the second marker payed off, a nice 7 pounder. I was thrilled! Weather was forcasted great for Tues. so I decided to go offshore and troll for some Kings. It would make for a great time for the whole family. The prediction was dead on for once and the seas wee like glass. Trolled the first spot with no luck so I anchored up and began to chum and the Kings showed up in great numbers. Caught them on jigs and free lined frozen cigs. Ended up with 6 keepers and a handfull of break offs. Everyone on the boat got a chance to reel one in. Could have stayed and got our limit but it got brutally hot out there. Few pics...

I left the island Thurs. morning for my anual Redneck Invitational trip at Econfina. Put in around noon and had our two man limit of trout and one red by 5. Friday was a lot tougher and only managed three trout one red and a 14" rock bass. Sat. we boated seven trout and one more red then headed back in to catch the Ga. game. All the fish came on a variety of baits including several different color Gulp!, voodoo shrimp, jigs, and topwater. Didn't get any pics on this trip.
