Had friends come down from Atlanta to fish last weekend.
They are all CDC guys so there was lots of Vibro and Zombie talk.

Could not have asked for better weather!
Dock at Rock Landing took a hit (no fish cleaning station) but they are back in business.

Saturday am we had motor trouble at the dock but it was quickly diagnosed.
and thanks to Mikes Marine for a loaned tool and a $1 part we were on the water by 9am

Fish bit all weekend but were best from 11am to 5 pm. Low tide was at 8am.
Found fish from the Lighthouse stake line all the way to the mouth of the Ochlockonee river.

Had a visitor mid day-

Enjoyed the fruit of our labor...

Sent them home with full coolers and tired arms - Easily caught over 200 fish in two days!
Spanish, Blues, Reds, Speckle Trout, White trout and croakers.

So for all those asking if the trout would ever recover in the bay, the answer is... I mean WAS "Yes!"... that WAS until Bman did them in. Poor trout. :smt010 ;-)

Very nice.

We caught a few Reds on Saturday and then went out for the trout (at St Marks). We were in them all day long, just had a hard time catching keepers. First trout was a nice 19.5", but then the shorts showed up. Moved around a lot to find the keepers and kept catching 14.5" trout. They were aggressive on pinfish parts (niece caught 3 straight trout on the same pinfish head!). I was using cajun thunder with nuclear chicken and pearl white, different baits. Did not seem to matter. Sunday we did not have much time and my nephew had never caught a black drum, so we targeted them. he caught a nice one and we ran out of crabs before my bro could get one. We then targeted trout for about an hour and same result, in a very different location. All shorts, but lots of them.

I am starting to think something has stunted the growth of the local trout population.
