Apalachicola 11/17 - 11/20

Made it down last week for the final trip of the year. Dropped the boat in Thursday afternoon and tried a couple of spots close by; didn't have a single bite. Got out Friday morning and covered a lot of water looking for trout. We fished the bay, river and some creek mouths. Only managed one keeper trout along with 3 shorts. My buddy and I had been keeping up with the local reports and through Friday we were completely disappointed with our performance thus far. Got out first light Saturday morning and decided to hit a spot we tried on Friday at the mouth of the river. We were the only boat in sight; limited out on trout in an hour. Caught most everything on a cork with a live shrimp in about 5 foot of water. A few were caught on a Gulp under a cork. Needless to say we made it back to the camp early that day and spent the afternoon hanging out in downtown. Went back to the same spot early Sunday morning and couldn't manage a single bite! Guess that cold front moved them somewhere else. Glad it all came together for us on Saturday morning. Now comes the long wait until Spring before we can get back out and try them again. Hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving this week.
Tight lines,
Jason
