Hey guys, been following these posts and all trying to keep up with the reds and trout. I was contemplating going down tomorrow. Are there still fish on the oyster bars and all? I have been catching them for the past couple months but haven't been lately.

They might still be there, if all this rain water hasn't made it's way down to the mouth of the river yet. Good luck if you go, I bet it'll be windy.

According to the weather channel the wind isn't supposed to get over 5 mph. Do the reds move up into the rivers or out further into the bay, where the salinity is a little better? I just started this summer so excuse the ignorant questions!

The Weather Channel isn't the most accurate marine forecast.

Here are a few that are a little better, if you count 50% accuracy at best.

Sunday will be warmer and the fish will probably hanging out closer to the river/creek mouths and adjacent shorelines and oyster bars. With the drought conditions before the latest rainfall, I don't believe the salinity will be impacted that much.

With my business I don't really know if I'll be able to go Sunday. Tomorrow I know I have off and it looked promising so I was just wondering if they'd still be around the bars and all so I may could go pull on a fish or two. Thanks for the link!

2 fishermen got 8 keeper trout today and the wind was terrible. go tomorrow, you should be able to find some.

Didn't see where you were talking about tomorrow. Yes, definitely looks promising and they should be chewing after the front passage. Wish I was going tomorrow. Will be testing the new Beavertail Mosquito instead. Darn!

Will do. I'm not a stranger to fishing, just the reds and whatnot. Freshwater fish a few days a week and offshore during the summer. This inshore bite is something else though. I guess the tide and salinity always have me thinking since that isn't a deal with freshwater.

Thanks for the info. I'll have a blast even if I don't catch a fish!

Think about trout and reds like you do bass. They are all ambush predators and like points, deeper holes, sloping drop-offs, and water flowing over rocks and bars. Best time to fish is when there is good tidal movement and up to when it stops. Good luck.
