Steinhachee

Post by Redbelly »

I am looking to go and stay a couple of nights right after the new year. I have never fished nor stayed down there.
Can anybody give me some good places to stay? I figure the fish will be in the river.
Thanks

I like the Sunset Resort condos right across the street from Roy's as you get use of the slips with the room, pretty reasonable rate this time of year. There is another condo behind them that is cheaper but no slip.

No info on trout in the river but its been pretty warm...

Second on the sunset resort & condos. I've stayed there countless times and never had a bad experience. I'm doubting trout in river fully yet due to warm temps. You can always go out to dallus creek and if in the creek great if not ur right near some of best flats on gulf coast.

Tight lines!!!

Not necessarily - depends on the weather and the water temps. Read this:

"This season the gulf’s best trout-catching zone appears to be one that hasn’t worn the crown in quite a while. So far, it looks like the honor should go to the Suwannee area..."
