St George 2/19

The tackle box was emptied today on the flats behind St. George and no pattern could be established. We fished from 11:30-5 and only could manage 3 keepers. One was a nice 20 incher but I can't ever remember working as hard on a pretty day to find fish. 3 other short and one redfish that missed a topwater twice was all the action we saw. Anyone find them today?

Have you been having luck on the flats? With this weather who knows? I will be down in East Point in a couple of weeks trying to find some fish myself.

Had decent luck on flats last weekend but was a struggle this weekend. That said we got checked by a fish and game guy and he said our 3 trout were the only keepers he had seen all day so I think fish just weren't biting. In about 3-4 feet of water the temp was around 67 when we put in around 11 and hit 70.5 in spots at peak. If I were to go back today I would probably stay out on flats or at mouths of rivers near some deeper water but that's just my 2ยข

One thing for sure. No chance of catching any if you're not fishing. Good luck and maybe the tide Gods will be with you.
