I mentioned in my previous in-shore post that I couldn't take Boo fishing again last weekend because of prior plans. Jeff-did you figure out that lily pad yet?

I left Wednesday afternoon with a colleague, and we headed to visit some more friends near Quitman. They have a great relationship with the neighboring plantation, and we were able to catch some bass, kill some clay birds and make dinner on the Egg that evening.

Thursday we chased quail. A great group of extremely funny guys to share the day with. Both the quail and dogs cooperated nicely.

Thanks for the invite guys, it was a great start to the my long weekend.

Came home Thursday after shooting and spent an hour or two with my girlfriend before heading to visit one my best, long-time friends in Pensacola. I've mentioned Capt. Chaz Heller and his business previously. Look up Heller Highwater Charters if you're interested in a Pensacola charter. My very best off-shore trips have been Chaz; only fair I guess since Matt and I taught him how to fish in-shore :D

It appears now he does as much custom rod/gaff building as he does chartering, but that isn't to say he isn't logging serious hours on the water. Chaz had a friend with a fairly new 30' SeaHunt that he is still learning, so we left the Venture and 5 of us headed out in the SeaHunt looking for tuna. 600 hp on a 30' center console and mill-pond conditions gets you there at 50+ mph and over 60 mph if your willing to accept the fuel readings. The towers are amazing to be around and the fishing is unlike anywhere else.

Chaz's custom rods put a hurting on the fish, the fish put a hurting on the fisherman. Image

Yesterday we had a company cook-out in the afternoon. There were wings, butts, mac & cheese and the other normal kibbles. I opened a seared tuna station that was well received.

The last week has been a good one, shared with great friends. Another weekend has arrived and the weather is beautiful. I won't post a report from this weekend, but I hope to see a bunch of you in Keaton next weekend.

Sounds like a good week. Those were some nice tunas. Those rigs look like they belong on an aircraft carrier somewhere.

yes. Always been beautiful, but they've done incredible work over the past year.

Don't know that cypress pond, but I sure do that aqua blue one with all the rigs. Have spent many a fun hour offshore out there.

Thanks for the mixed report, Showboat! This weekend you'd better make up for lost time with the GF.

Pretty rediculous report. Nice work all around. Pretty jealous of that tuna trip. Especially those conditions. I'm positive when I go, it will be howling.... I think I've seen those dogs at the cocker trials. They have unique markings. They bring down a whole bunch of em, pretty dogs.

Actually 3 different dogs. Max belongs to the gentlemen who invited me hunting. BJ is a plantation dog, and I believe the same bloodlines as max. Riley, the dog at the cook-out, is ~14 months old and out of Cedar Farms

I was looking at the ones in the first pic. I've only seen ones like that from one kennel. Really nice folks. That liver pup looks like mine, about the same age. Isn't it about time to hook your boo up with a puppy? I'm sure your dying to get rid of some of that free time you have?
