I like to ketch big redbellies on ultralight tackle.
I want to try the Sopchoppy. Where to put in? Is it overfished? Are there some good redbellies there?
I also hear it's very scenic, sandbars and such. Love to fish small rivers.

The Sopchoppy City Park is the only public ramp

From there you would do best going up river a few miles before starting ta fish. There has been a lot of folks fishing down river and keeping everything that getts on the hook

Up river is a bit more dificult ta fish, so it getts less presure and most that do fish up river don't keep the babies just ta get a limit
PS: The ramp will be closed July 3rd for the Fourth of July celibration.

By difficult do you mean lots of current and blowdowns, shallow?
Can I run my 15' w/25 hp upriver to good fishing?
Thanks for your info wevans.

There are some blow downs to navigate, then after about 5 miles the sand bars, logs and blow downs start to get more numorus. You should have no problems with your boat so long as you don't get in a hurry.
