We did not get to the coast til 3pm on Thursday and with a 25mph steady wind blowing at Presnells, we left the boat on the trailer. Thursday night the camper rocked all night from the winds.
Friday morning came and its a steady 20-25 out of the NW. We tried the ICW and even drove to CSB State Park but could not get away from the wind. Called it a day around 2pm.
Saturday morning the 10 knot wind couldn't even be felt. Ran out at 10am and fished around Blacks Island. Caught around a dozen trout with 3 keepers. Also caught 4 flounder fishing the cuts in the grass flats. Boats were steady moving all day so I don't think anyone was on them good. Wind picked up again that afternoon and it got sporty again in the bay.
Sunday morning was beautiful as we drove back to GA.
The old 185 Ranger Intracoastal did good in the 2 foot white caps in the bay. Would have been nicer being in a 23' bay boat though.
Hind-site being 20-20, we should have trailered the boats East to more protected waters Friday. Not many places I know of to hide from a NNW at St Joe.
