I am going to try the Gulp's, but wanted to know what the preferred color is for St. Marks and Ochlocknee Bay? The penny looks like it would blend in the water but it's also the same color as real shrimp so...

New Penny is a good start... but I'd step away from GULP and move to ZMAN. So much more durable; and some even scented.

Stop on over to Kevin's or BPS and check out their selection.

White with a yellow tail has been my most productive color recently

I would say by a pack of white or glow, either with chart. tails or not and also buy a pack of new penny. Don't get the 4" shrimp because they are such large diameter that they fill the gap even in a wide gap jig hook. Try both and see which one works. Normally in this area, white for clear or sediment-filled (grey) water, and new penny for brown / tannin stained water. There are other colors that work, but these are the two main choices for this area.

Molting, Natural, New Penny, Glow, Salt & Pepper, Electric Chicken, White..... in that order are my favorites.
I also think the Mantis Shrimp gulps work better than the standard gulps

White with chartreuse tail. If they don't bite it fished straight, try it under a popping cork.

Appreciate the replies. I'm gonna get up to Bass Pro tonight and pick some up. I know it's going to be crowded this weekend with the tournament going on, but I want to test them out.
