Put in at the fort around 730. Ran out to the east flats. Seriously stiff SE wind! My son caught a blue first cast! Then we waded through some short trout with the occasional keeper. Pretty steady bite all the way down the tide and even through the high low. Ended up with 4 keeper trout, two mackerel that spoke Spanish, and a blue. All caught on gulp, different colors with some sort of chartreuse on em. No corks involved. Most action was in 4-5 ft of water. Water temp was 77-79 the entire time. We had another 3-4 keeper trout that came unbuttoned at the boat. Great day with the fam!

I was out there with you. Despite the wind and my father-in-law stumbling and falling all over my boat we still caught some fish, until I had to get him off the water before he hurt him self. I learned yesterday that he doesn't get the invite unless seas are calm.

I hear ya. My wife and my 9 year old both almost went overboard!

I was there too. Still haven't found the spots to fish out there but I had fun fighting/ramping the waves! Spent some time in the backwaters but no luck

. The stake line is always a good place to start. And of course the rock garden. Just go slow in there.

Not familiar with the stake line and have heard of the rock garden but couldn't tell you where it is. I have only fished out of St. Marks a few times and have just stayed out on the flats hanging a left at the lighthouse

If you hung a left at the lighthouse, you are headed towards the rock garden. Its about 3 miles east of the main channel.
