Well, since Franklin Co. decided at the last minute not to issue my demo permit so I could get started remodeling and I had to ride down to pay they guy who helped restore my shoreline from storm damage, I decided to hook up the Ol' Pro. Was excited, because I just added a 9" Simrad to the Pro. Had to replace the trailer lights, including cutting one off with a saw saw. Checked the trailer and one tire looked like it might be down to its last 10 trips, but ok. Gang gathered around 4:30 and we headed out. When we were running I-10, I thought I felt something a little funny and then a car flashing lights. It seems the last trip was the last trip for that tire. I had even sprayed the lug nuts the night before with some lubricant, but when we jacked up the trailer, two lug studs broke off. Checked my map and decided that coastal trailers was the place to go. Carefully made it to Panacea long before Coastal was to open. Ate a good breakfast at the Coastal restaurant and gassed up at Crum's. Some guys around the table assured me that the internet was wrong and Coastal Trailer would be open at 8AM. I decided to split the difference and arrived at 8:30. One gate was open and the proprietor had one eye open. He agreed that although he didn't open until 9, that he would get me fixed. Put a new tire on my rim and a new hub on that torsion axle and were were good to go. Good, fast, friendly and reasonable service. Then I headed to Franklin Co., met with my landscape guy, paid him and off to launch at the Market. Everyone wanted to know if we were fishing the tournament. Nope! I don't tournament fish no more, I just plain fishes. NOAA the afternoon before said winds 5-10 mph in the morning and climbing in the afternoon. They got it exactly opposite. Winds were 16-20 when we launched. We went between sheltered areas and caught a good number of short trout. I put one keeper in the box. Needed my drift sock, but somehow that didn't get put back under the center console after my fuel tank replacement. Boat ran great, Simrad was impressive and other than the 4-5's when we were crossing open areas, it was a good day to be on the water.

I'm surprised you didn't encounter tons of traffic, as Rockthedock Tournament in Panacea was underway and there was also a tournament in Franklin county underway. With the trouble you had, glad you still got to go fishing!

Good folks at Costal Trailer. They have saved many a trip.

The wind was howling at Lanark Saturday. That seemed to seriously reduce the tourney crowd at the ramp. MD If you caught fish Saturday you earned them. Good work.

Plenty of parking this AM. At 10:00 am there was one empty trailer in the parking lot.....and that one didn't have a truck with it. (wind was South gusting to 30 plus)

Breakfast at the Pearle......excellent.

Coastal Trailer was great!

As for the tournament, we had a nice offshore boat scream past us as we cleared lanark reef heading to fish behind dog island. He cleared Dog and about the time we were starting our first drift, he was screaming back in to get behind dog before we finished our first drift.

There were some solid 4's between dog and alligator point. I can only imagine offshore. Too old to try to want to bang my kidneys into my ankles anymore!
