Prop repair?
Is there any place in the Tallahassee area that rebuilds rock-damaged aluminum props? Or a recommended shop in another area I could ship it to?
Sure glad I was not running the stainless; shaft and seals appear to be ok.

Re: Prop repair?
All the shops in the area that I know of send them off for repair. It's usually a one week turnaround deal. I take mine to Parkway Marine since its close to where I live.

If it's aluminum, it's disposable. Probably cost as much to repair as it would be to buy a new one.

He was looking for rebuild, not straightening a bent blade.
Shields sends props off to somewhere in Perry. Don't know the name of the shop.

Re: Prop repair?
That's what I was thinking too. I'd think a weld would be weaker and might not be balanced perfectly like a new prop not to mention the possibility the hub is damaged or gets damaged during the repair process.silverking wrote:If it's aluminum, it's disposable. Thanks for the replies. The hub is old and I probably would be better off getting a new one.
