St george island Thursday

Strange day out behind the state park! Put in at 6:30 and wind was already up. We were able to find some calm water behind a bar and caught 3 nice trout quick on top water. About 8 o'clock the flats went still. Wind laid way down and bite completely stopped. Nothing hitting on top or any noticeable signs of life. We tried everywhere we could think including running all the way down to plantation runway and nothing. On way back we decided to stop back behind the bars where we started one last time. The wind had picked back up and was blowing a good 10-15 and sure enough the flats caught fire!!! Seemed like every cast was a trout and within 3 drifts we went from 3 keepers to 15 including two over 20!!

Forgot picture before cleaning so only 14 made the photo op

I'm glad they were biting somewhere. They didn't bite worth a flip over at Aucilla, and the wind was just as terrible. Nice catch, guys!

Glad to hear they are biting there. I'll be down there the next two weekends. Hope to get on them like you did. They bit good at Keaton Friday as well. We got our 3 man limit fairly quickly.
