What are you guys hearing about a Taylor county doing away with daily parking permits and requiring a year pass? I know it doesn't really affect most of you because it's cheaper to buy the year pass anyway, but I know some local businesses are upset about it.

According to seahag its a done deal, I think its ridiculous. I use the Dixie co ramp anyway, but it makes no sense for someone who rarely goes to need a year pass.

Is the cost going to remain at $20/year for a decal? If so... stop complaining and buy 3 less bags of GULP!

I read some about that through Sea Hag as well.

Also last Saturday they had a guy at the line checking for permits and recording license numbers. I had no issue with my yearly permit but he still recorded my tag number. I'm not sure what he told the other boat with us because I know they did not have a yearly.

I would be happy to pay (it will save me money). What is aggravating is the last time we called, no website to buy one, no mail in, no credit card over the phone and mail it out. Had to go in person. That's a pain. Would be nice if they had some way to handle it without having to drive to Perry.

Is there any plans for that?

Just checked (it had been a while since I looked).

Annual pass $20 + $1 mailing fee to buy it online. That is only 4 launches. Money well spent for me. Plus they will more than make up for the loss of the daily fee by not having meth heads tear up the fee box and steal the money!

Question, Is this for any ramp in Taylor Co. Econfina, Spring Warrior?

Econfina is a state park, $2 launch fee. Or at least it was the last time I went out of there.

Go to Taylor county's tax collector website, at the bottom of the page is a tab where you can purchase a permit with a credit card, I got mine yesterday.

No to both of those. Spring warrior is a private launch and econfina is a state park.

You can buy an annual pass that's good for all the state parks in our area. Price has gone up but it's still a good deal if you launch there a lot. They also offer veterans discounts. $60 individual and $120 per family but discounts are only offered in person, not on-line.

So you can't launch if you don't have annual permit???

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. It is nice that you can put on trailer that way you don't have to use the same tow vehicle all the time.
