Moonlighting at Lanark

Post by mjsigns »

Went down to Lanark Thursday night and put the canoe in the water around 9:30pm. The tide was extremely low at -1.9 feet according to the tide predictor. I had to drag the boat 25 yards to reach the water. I watched the moon rise while trying unsuccessfully to catch some pin fish for bait. Without pinfish, or any live bait, I paddled out to the channel marker (down near ho-hum) and dropped my anchor. As Alamar suggested in the “moonlightâ€

That was my first "night" trip at lanark. I stayed near the chanel marker behind ho-hum and worked the channel, even set up a short drift and almost found myself in the middle of the bay. (It's a little scary in a canoe) I would have put in near the Lab, but the developers posted "no tresspassing" signs where I normally slip in. I think they are calling it "summer camp". Me and by buddy fished behind the lab two years ago and also did very well. Cought all kinds of different fish, trout, blues, bulls and spanish and lizard fish. I wonder if they raise them weird fish at the lab....
