Headed down late Thursday to meet up with my dad and buddy. They managed 7-8 keeper trout before I arrived. Many small trout were picked up in 2-3 feet of water. However, the biggest surprise of the day was realizing someone had decided they needed my fiber glass powerpole and replaced it with their junk - guess they thought GA boys wouldn’t notice.

This morning the weather wasn’t nearly as cold and with the negative tide we weren’t in a huge hurry. Water temp hovered around 58 all day and hit 61 as we came in. Once again, the bite didn’t heat up until around 1130, but wow it turned on and didn’t stop. All fish were nice 17plus and tons of short throwbacks.

The three of us had a limit by 2:00 and headed back to Georgia. Water was more stained north of Keaton than the gin clear water in front of Dekle/ Keaton. The fish hit everything- live shrimp under cork, suspended baits, soft plastics. It was one that you wish all the kids were there.

Nice report, looks like a good mess. Power pole has a lifetime warranty on those fiberglass spikes, hopefully they will replace it. Their customer service it great.
