Wind from the east

Fish bite the least. Held true for me at Shell Point yesterday. Other than a couple of bitten off flies, presumably Spanish, nil, zilch, and nothing. Hit some oyster bars and also ventured into deeper water looking for bait. Really very little activity. I thought the water clarity was still poor.

That's why it's called "fishing" and not "catching" :-D I'm starting to think the wind from the east isn't just an old wive's tale. :-? Pretty much the same thing held true in PC's east bay. Water is still the color of strong tea and what I thought was odd was the bait was everywhere you looked but nothing hitting them. Did manage a couple short reds and 23 trout of which 3 hit the cooler so it was a slow but still productive day throwing a swimbait. Looking forward to my new 8 wt and reel arriving next week so I can try to catch one on the fly. I'm probably gonna need lots of advice!
