Due to a work schedule boo boo I found myself in Bass Pro Shop for 2 hours today. I’ve been seeing those high end Spincast reels for a few years and looked at them closely today. Can anybody vouch for them? Or the $50+ ones? I like baitcasters but I absolutely hate eggbeaters, so when it comes to bream fishing I just burn through Zebco and Shakespeare reels.

Daiwa BG. Best thing at that price point. Solid saltwater reels.

Simano Nasci in my opinion is the best reel for the $100 price point.

OP is asking about spincast reels, not spinning reels. Like these:
But the two spinners mentioned are good, affordable reels in that category.

At this point I would pay anything for a Spincast reel whose longevity matched the price no matter how high it was lol!

I have been inside a Zebco Bullet. The bearing line roller pickup is a welcome change to the pin style line pickup that adds friction and abrasion to the line when retrieving. The construction seems very solid compared to other spincast reels and should perform well with routine maintenance over multiple seasons of use.

I am not sure how well any spincast real is going to hold up to saltwater. The closed - body design seems like it would be hard to get the salt out of.

Dad has been using some of the high end zebcos for at least five years. He cleans them and sprays with Reel Magic.
No issues so far!

Both Shakesphere and Zebco spincast reels will give good service if you keep them serviced and keep good line on them. I like reel magic, too. They do require a good soaking when they've been in saltwater.

Are there any good brands other than Zebco that you would recommend? I may look into one for when my grandpa or younger kids come along with us

Do the high end ones cast something as small as a beetlespin as well as a not-worn-out Zebco 33? For all the heck I give them, they sure do hum a lil lure when they’re brand new.

Absolute best I had was an Omega 191 by Zebco.
Bought a Shakespeare Synergy Ti some years ago. Surprised at the good quality.
