Been trying to get out for a few months but health issues have kept me away from the coast so today was long overdue. I wish I could say that I whipped up on the fish but that would be a fib. I got into a couple schools of just under slot trout but couldn't put one in the frying pan. I found a bunch of reds but they didn't want to play either. Darn frustrating. At least the fish I did catch were in 1.5 to 3 feet so that gives me hope that it's about to fire up. Gulp jerk shad in nuclear chicken flavor and a gold and orange Cotton Cordell were what the little guys wanted. Maybe next weekend. Hope some of you found the school of Gators and bulls I was looking for.

I think we'll try this weekend if the weather don't get too bad. Slot trout are kinda hard to come by right now, lots of shorts. Last Sat. we fished hard to catch 6 keepers, probably threw back between 20-30 14-14.5''. And a just-short red topped it off!

Fished Yates Creek area Thursday. 3 drifts = 10 trout to 19" and 5 reds to 28". All in 4-5' of water, which was fairly close in with big tide.

Where is Yates Creek?
Is it near Spring Warrior?

Yes Red Belly, Yates is south of SW about 3 miles, couple miles north of Dekle or roughly 7 miles north of Keaton.
