End of the year trip

My buddy Tim and I took our end of the year trip that has been successful in the past. Launched at the Fort around 11:30 due to the -.8 low tide at 9:30. We fished a bar just outside of the river entrance that was starting to flood. Picked up three trout from 18 to 20 inches. Two were on topwater and one on a Zman diesel minnow.
Water temp was very warm at 70 degrees and clear.
Around 12:30 we headed to Grey Mare rock. Fished the flat for a while with no love. We the headed to a creek. Fished the grass line at the entrance with no luck and then moved into the creek. We caught more and very aggressive trout on swim baits, mostly in the chartreuse color. Tim finally broke the ice on the redfish with a puppy which was shortly followed by an overslot stud at 27 1/2'' . I then caught a 19'' red that came home with us.
All the trout were released as they were very fat and we wanted them to be able to produce lots and lots more for the future.
The weather was great, the water was slick calm most of the day with an overcast sky and mild temps. All in all we had another great year end trip.
