:-D Got to keaton about 8:30 the skies looked ominous, but we got some pins and shrimp and headed to a close spot left of the last marker. The wind was making a little choppy and it was raining all around us but not on us. By 11:30 we had on managed 3 short trout and 1 rock bass. But we had a blast catchin poor-mans tarpon (ladyfish) Some over 30" FUN FUN FUN. The sun started to peek a little so we ran over to that first island to the left to look for scallops. 3 tries no dice, Headedback towards keaton's marker line and found them near that little point there halfway or so back. They were not thick but we got almost a limit. But they were huge. They seemes to like the prop scars and the needle grass anywhere from 3 to 8 feet. :-D

Just a follow-up on the scallops at Keaton from this weekend (8/20-22). They are still there but they are spread out so you have to work at it to pick up a limit. They seem to be in shallower water now than they had been -- either that or the deeper water has been worked over more. Most folks were south of the channel over towards Piney Point in 2-3 feet of water over mixed bottom. We were lazy and didn't scout around very much so maybe there are some areas where things are better but based on our experience and all of the reports we heard, they seem to be spread thin. We didn't take the time to seriously fish for trout but there were a few good reports from Friday and Saturday.
