A Boat......

........is a hole in the water, designed to pour money into, never to be recovered.

With all of the recent boat purchases on this forum I thought I would post some of the rules. I know I won't remember all of them. So, you veteran boat owner/fisherpeople feel free to add.

There is no such thing as too much STUFF.

Upgrade becomes a common word in your vocabulary.

10 rod/reel combo's will catch more fish than 3.

You NEED 134 different colors of soft plastics.

"We have plenty of gas"

"Officer, that trout was 15" when I caught it."

"This GPS must be broken. I'm sure I know where I'm going."

"All ya have to do is........"

"Why are all of those boats on the wrong side of the channel markers?"

:-D (read Sir Reel's signature)

is release

I had to give up something dear to my heart this past week, my family members said you have alot of money tied up in that....I told them that if I played golf twice a week for two years, what would I have to show for it, nothing....

The few times I have played golf the only thing I brought home was some score cards and some golf tee's....

The few times I have gone fishing, I have brought home some fish and once a brand new reel and rod offered up by the fish god's :D

Use this rationale to justify the boat toys, fishing toys, etc and life will be good...

Good point chalk, I like that. I really like taking other people fishing, but, I absolutely get an adrenaline rush when I go solo. I feel like a king when I leave the no wake zone, hear the motor rev up and get on plane at about 35 MPH. I like reaching a spot and driting for a few hours and solving all the worlds problems. Fishing is the most therapuetic treatment I know, and the boat is the copay.
