With yesterday's calm seas and overall nice weather, my friend and I decided to take the bay boat to target fish in 90+ feet of water south of Dog Island. Our primary target was red snapper. At our first stop, the bite was slow, but we managed to boat a 27" and 28" red snapper, and a seabass and lane snapper that were about 14" inches in length. The red snapper were caught on pinfish or pigfish, but the lane took squid and the seabass bit on half of an LY.
At our next spot, we had hoped to limit out on snapper. However, the grouper were there and hungry. We added three red grouper to the cooler along with a gag. Eventually, we found a 24" in red snapper and the 100 qt. cooler was full.
