St. Marks Report 8/21

gennaro and i headed down to shields to install a new radio on the wetjet
got there around 10 - finished around 11:15
launched and was going down river by 11:30
nothing biting close to the lighthouse and headed to the shoal to have lunch with any nfgfc folks at 12:30 - ran into DD and LIveLine on Grouper Dave's boat. hung out - ate lunch - drank one of live line's beers (his always taste better than mine) and decided to fish for a couple hours
went east and started an easterly drift. not much happening at first so took it out to 6 feet. finally landed a 21.5" trout (released) and gennaro landed a 19" trout (released) - surface temp still around 86 degrees
headed back in around 2:30
felt good to run the boat and do some fishing - it has been too long for me
can't wait for it to cool a bit - i think we will see some good action in about a month
