Rounded the corner of Dog Island to find a 15 knot wind with seas of corresponding stature. So we spent the day fishing inshore in < 50 ft. Boxed the seasons first king on a blue & silver Mann's stretch to start the morning. Found a nest of 19 3/4 inch red grouper that would not let an LY touch the bottom. We were using some dry chum at the time, not sure if this contributed, more research necessary. Brought home 2 reds, one gag, and a flounder. Best bite I've had in a while and never left sight of land.
