1) I realize this rock is in deeper water than the others, but does it ever break the surface? I have fished the numbers for Peter's Rock and had very good success, but I haven't actually found the structure.
2) From the second stake, east of St. Marks is it safe to run all the way to the Aucilla?
Thanks for any help.

On the lowest minus tide I have ever seen the main rock was about 1 foot under the surface. I watched a guy sheer off his lower unit just north of the rock.
However there are rocks all around there and caution should be taken.
It is safe to run to the Aucilla from the second stake as long as you make sure you are to the outside of Peter's as well as the Aucilla Stake.

I'm surprised there isn't a PVC Pole or something out there.

Hey guys,
I just recently started fishing the east flats of St. Marks. Are you refering to the rock that has the PVC pole ascending from it, approximately 200-300 yards from the shoreline, and about 1.5nm from the lighthouse? I was warned about this rock and others surrounding it before I started fishing there. Any other hazards I should know about? Thanks!

That is the rock garden Surfguy. And there are tons more rocks in there than just the one that is marked.
Peters is about another 3 miles east.

Tom -- do you have a number for the rock garden area? I've been wanting to explore that area but have never been in there. I would prefer to find it the easy way instead of the hard way if ya know what I mean!

Jim,
If you go to black rock and go due north you can't miss it on low to mid tide.
