Last Day For Gag Grouper

Post by John21:6 »

The last day of gag grouper season earlier this week, was the first day and only day that I had to target gag grouper this year. My friends and I targeted the fish in state waters is south of Carrabelle.

While going over some of our old grouper spots it seemed that the ledges and rocks were much more pronounced than in past years. This must’ve been the result of the hurricanes, moving the sand out. Anyway, we went through a good number of hooks, leaders, and sinkers but we managed to put five keeper grouper in the cooler. The big fish of the day weighed 15 lbs.

I had high hopes that when I go to Keaton this week we might could find some shallow but the closure has killed that idea.

Glad y'all finished the season strong.
