I've always wanted a Mini 14 in stainless. There are many different opinions on the Mini 14 firing 5.56, but I believe it's ok to use 5.56 in the standard model. Unless the NRA Edition falls into the Target Model chamber size.

I had the rifle inspected at Red Hills Arms via serial number. They said the specs on this particular model allowed only .223 to be fired. They wanted the rifle, but obviously private sales tend to be better. If it is still around in a week or so, I'll probably just let them purchase it. Thanks for the reply and additional info.
