Well I had planned on trying to do gag grouper and snapper on the same day with the limited season on gags, but mother nature had other plans. We booked a room in July on a wing and a prayer that we could go out of mash sands with good weather. Well that didn't happen so inshore was on the menu instead.
The cat didn't want me to leave apparently

But we headed to the fort against his will and after a quick stop at Shields we were ready to go. After a run easy we were greeted by pleasant 81F water temps.
And a very over zealous pinfish
But there were trout around

And after catching 4 keepers and getting my heart broke by a snook for the 3rd time this year we decided to head in to a creek for reds.
We ended up each catching a red with 2 being keepers and 1 short. At this point food was sounding good as we skipped lunch and we decided to call it and head in to go get Angelos, buffalo backs were on point.
Well the weather the next morning did not look promising so we went to the lighthouse and fished inshore though it was quite calm when we launched.
We decided to Redfish to the west this day, and we had high hopes when we got to the first stop and immediately caught 2 reds, both short unfortunately and then the sharks showed up
And the rain suits had to come out

So we moved after they showed up and did a drift for trout and caught just shorts. I then decided to run out to the st marks reef and play around in 20 ft to see if there were any shallow gags but it was rougher than I felt like dealing with. So we headed to another red spot to not even find a pin fish. We took that as a sign for lunch and headed back to see we were still by ourselves

Since we got done earlier than expected we decided to get lunch at Hutton's before the trip back to GA
The sea monster was excellent with bacon added
Looks like we'll just have to try and do snapper later this fall and miss the gags this year.
