Shell Point anyone??

Hello Yall,,,
I've been going to Keaton Beach and Econfina for the longest time (mainly staying at Keaton). Its terrible what happened there but now we are looking at shell point area. We're about 50 north of Tallahassee. Anyone got any information like how to navigate it, fish it where to stay?

It’s a cool little place. Also a sailing community so lots of deeper canals. Plenty of inshore, nearshore and offshore fishing. More oyster bars than grass flats out front, but st marks is just a little to the east. The water won’t be nearly as clear as you’re used to in Keyton.

I think air b&b would be your only options to stay. No hotels that I’m aware of. There are hotels on 98 about 10 min away , but not near the water.

Its got good boat ramp and canals and well marked chanel out. To the west are oyster bars and Piney Island, to the east are mudflats and St. Marks. No resturants or motels, just private houses and public boat ramp.

Hey man, welcome to the Shell Point crew! It’s a bit different from Keaton but has some solid inshore action—reds, trout, and even flounder if you know where to look. The flats can get skinny real quick, so a good tide chart is your friend. I’d launch early, work the oyster bars on a moving tide, and don’t sleep on the creeks to the west. For lodging, there are a couple of Airbnbs near the marina, and Shell Point RV Park is decent if you're trailering in. Hope this helps and tight lines!

Often put in there and its a great ramp.

However, as stated above, there are no other public accommodations other than portable toilet at ramp. No motels or restaurants after you leave hwy 98.

If new, put in at main public ramp, do not be seduced by the oyster bay ramp. When they say oyster bay there, they mean it.

Easy run and fish to the east toward St Marks, except gets real shallow up in the refuge to the east, so stay outside the buoy line. To the west, its oyster bay and very tricky unless you stay outside the buoy line.

If you age going to scallop, I've rarely seen many, but if you run east, the water gets clearer and occasionally the St Marks area has some numbers.
