Good but brief day on the water. Headed out of Pancea Harbor Marina about 9:30 (couldn't get the wife out of bed). Headed out of the channel and saw a bunch of birds circling. Went over to check it out...ended up a bunch of ladyfish. Caught four of those basically on back to back casts. Tried to get the wife hooked up but she's still getting the whole casting thing down. Followed TC's advice and headed east. Fished in about 3 feet of water for about 30-45 minutes. Landed three short trout in the 12 inch range. Saw several large rays and one large cobia following along. Couldn't get him to take anything. Unfortunately, pregnant women and 90+ degree heat don't get along too well so we had to head back to the dock. Took a quick run around the bay playing with the new boat, electronic, etc. Everything seemed to be working well. Was back at the Marina by 12. So all told, 7 fish in a couple of hours. Had a great time. No injuries, no major malfunctions, no sandbars, and the boat still floats. I'll take it everytime. Thanks again TC and Wevans for the directions and heads up. Might try again tommorrow solo.
Good trip. You are lucky she came along while she did. She came along just for you. Glad to hear you boat is operating smoothly and you connected with a few fish.
