Econfina 6/1/2025

Post by dombern34 »

fished the afternoon rising tide and had pretty decent success.

ran towards rock island and made several drifts in 3-5ft.

water temp was around 85 degrees.

i threw a double fluke rig and some plastics on the bottom/ fishing partner threw the tourist rig (popping cork) the whole time. caught probably 50-60 shorts and a 2 man limit ranging from 15-22".

everything went back to swim until caught again. picked up a single red that came off a point near the end of our drift. decided to try it before idling back out. again, tossed everything back and headed in around sunset. wind was blowing pretty consistent the whole time as well.

water clarity was stained. but i could see bottom at 5-6 foot. good "tea" color.

hope everyone makes it out!

I now feel ashamed and embarrassed for using a popping cork.
