The Tin Can III got tested this morning. Put in at the fort before daylight. A light chop out to the bird rack. Then I crossed that invisible line. Tide falling and wind out of the SSE = 2' tight chop, with a few 3's thrown in for a little excitement. Went to a spot ESE of 24 I haven't been to in 2 years. Had a brand new TLD 15 and a brand new Redbone rod to try. 10 minutes into the first pass trolling, the rod tip dropped. 23" gag. Caught a total of 7 grouper trolling. The first fish of the day was the only keeper. But the boat preformed wonderfully. No 18.5' boat is going to be comfortable running into tight 2's and 3's. In fact, I had the prop clear the water one time. But, I never got wet.
The water is still green at 30 feet. The surface temp was 84 degrees in 30 feet at 0745 this morning. By 1100 the water surface temp was 90 degrees. Low tide was 1017. I did not get a bite after 1030. Fished till 1330.
Not a banner day, but I was out there, and not working, and, nothing broke. I think I'm gonna like the TLD.
