Glutton for Punishment……9/24/04Lanark

As I stated a few weeks ago on my introduction to the inshore board I planned to stay close to shore and leave the offshore punishment to others. Well I never listen to that guiding voice of wisdom in my head. Therefore Friday I decided to head off shore with a buddy of mine. We started early out of Lanark around 7am. We visited our pinfish traps and filled the bait well then headed about 7 miles SE from Dog Island this was a long 7

miles at 20 knots through 5-6 footers and the occasional 8 footer just to keep our spines aligned. We finilly reached our spot and luckily it marked like a Christmas tree of chevrons. After a few “painfulâ€

Yes it was safe we were on a 28' Boston Whaler

At least you got some reward for your "beating".
I assume all the fish were grouper (I ain't from round 'ere

I was thinking you were in a smaller vessel. Whalers are safer than your average boat. I bet you all were fatigued the next day. You gotta be in shape to endure a ride like that.

The ride would be bad enuf, but the anchoring and fishin would be rough as Heck

Ya gotta WANT to be out there in those conditions. Glad to hear there's someone else as crazy as me on this forum.
