We put in at the C quarters about 7:30 AM. The water was tea brown at best. Made it out East Pass before realizing that we never stopped to catch live bait. Well, we had the idea that is was high time for some trolling so we passed on the live bait and headed South. We stopped on the first hole in 40' of water and things were a little slow. Got one hit on a stretch 30 but he pulled off. Around 9:00AM the wind picked up a little and trolling was getting BORING (I'm typically not a troller). So, we tried an old time grouper favorite of ours and broke out the jigs. Game on!! The grouper were fast and furious on the same hole we had trolled 10 times. NOt, only grouper, but some other nice suprises. We caught Red Fish and Cobia over the same spot. A 3 oz. curly tail jig was more than they could stand. All in all we stayed on the same hole in 40' until noon. Had 2 redfish (34" and 36") 1 Cobia (40") and 9 Gags No reds. I wish we had pics, but we left the camera in the truck. The grouper have definately come to shallower water. I wish we were back there today

Did not keep the Red Fish. They were great fun and beautiful to look at, but no keepers. In fact we measured them in the water to keep from risking putting them in the boat.
