Do you, after you have flushed your engine from running in salt water.
Do you disconnect while it is running, to empty the engine of gas.
I usually go out every week or two. Should I?

On smaller engins I owned in the past, I used to always un-hook em and let the fuel burn out. Just keeps the engin clean.. no build up

I did years ago. But, the outboards I now own have a clamped connection. They aren't intended to be disconected. I've never had a problem not burning the fuel out of the system. But, as you, I use my boats often, and it doesn't seem to cause a problem.

That would make me sleep better at night

We have always unplugged ours after every outing.....I like the way the motor sounds out of the water, too....Your neighbors will appreciate it too :D ...

Of course I always flush mine out with fresh water in the yard. Mostly because my neighbor hates it so bad when I fire it up early Sunday morning.
