Trout.
Redfish are great but when you catch a redfish it just tries real hard to get away.
Trout are different. They get pissed off.
I'm sure I derive some perverse pleasure in having that kind of attitude on the end of my line.

Littoral, it's hard to beat the drag stripping fight of a good red on light line.

A keeper Red is sweet !! but Im not gonna throw back either one

Yeah, hard to beat the drag singing but a big trout shaking her head & bucking like a mad bull is it for me.

It would have to be a big gator trout for me. Definately don't complain when a red decides to eat my bait, but trout are my preference. Flounder would be my second choice in the inshore category just simply cause they taste so good browned in a skillet with butter and some italian dressing.

MJs right.....But I will take a 27" red over a trout any day....Nothing but shoulders.....

Chalk, since you said a 27" redfish, are you saying you would actually rather catch a 27" Redfish than a 27" trout?

Any trout I catch over 21" will be released, so.......Hmmmm.....Most reds to over 25" too.....I would have to say an inshore red.......

I've seen you post elsewhere that you rlease +20 trout. Is that true for all of your +20's?

Meanwhile, you didn't really answer which you'd rather catch. Your answer was about which you might keep.

I would rather catch a red...pound for pound no contest.....I release all trout over 21, unless my dad or CS is with me....There old school, it's a fish and it will eat .....It's all about maintaining the blood lines and it feels good too

A difficult question because redfish are not so "common" as speckled trout (well not when I fish there).

Pound for pound, on identical tackle, I would prefer the redfish.
They "don't half hang on", as my friend says.
