Where is the best place to buy some mix for my Yamaha on a Friday afternoon in Tallahassee?

A little late but that new marina out on 20 is the cheapest I have found, but Don's on Tenn. street is probably the second best. This is my experience buying by the gallon.

Thanks FM, I'll get some Monday. I've been burning West Marine oil in my V-Max and have had good luck with it but I would rather burn Yamaha.

$25 a gallon @ Sunshine.

Hope that comes with Vasaline. $13.95 out on Hwy 20 and I believe $16.95 at Don's on Tenn. street .

Okay so its $10/Gal for semi-synthetic Penzoil blend at WalMart or Advanced Auto Parts is the Yammalube really worth about 60% extra?

Seems like those yellow gallon jugs of Penzoil TCW3 are the only affordable boating purchase I make on a regular basis. I am kind of attached to them.

I run 93 octane premo gas in the 2S Yammie and usually dump in a can of seafoam if we are going to be off the water for more than 2 weeks. Is the Yammalube a must?

ps- Also i have been keeping a new (sealed) quart of the Penzoil TCW3 semi-synthetic blend in my truck toolbox. If I run low on the water I am hoping I can get back to the ramp and fill up a little - maybe save a half day on the water. Of course I keep several quarts of truck oil in the tool box for similar reasons.

You might wanna chek the owners manual on the 93 oct feul. I run 87 in my 150 as per the specs. As far as the oil goes, I have run whatever I can find in a pinch but prefer Yammalube if I remember to pick some up.

Better carry that 2stroke oil with you on the boat in case it goes on the blink and you have to mix in the tank. .02

There has been more stuff written on 2 stroke outboard oil than anyone could imagine. In my years of research I've discovered that every outboard manufacturer has an oil made to their specifications, based on testing with their engines. Every manufacturers' oil is to a different specification. That said, every manufacturer of 2 stroke outboards has experienced problems with their oil injection systems. What I have discovered, from both my personal experience, and experiences of acquaintences, is if your 2 stroke, oil injected, or pre mix motor is under warranty, run the manufacturers' oil. That eliminates the possibility of refusal of an oil related warranty claim for not using their oil.

I'll add that as soon as all of the 2 strokes I've owned over the past 10 years were no longer under warranty, I put the synthetic blend Pennzoil in them and had no problems.

As for fuel grade, the best information I've found is to run mid grade gasoline (89 octane), unless otherwise specified. The reason for this is because mid grade has less addatives than any other grade.

I have received recent information about gasahol and Yamaha 4 stroke outboards. It agrees with the information posted a few weeks ago on this forum.

No, I am not an expert in this area. But, if any of you want to know more, you can search the internet and read about 2 stroke outboard oil for the next 6 months. I finally disregarded the outboard manufacturers' tests and reports and relied on the independant testing companies' information.

You need to stop using 93 octane gas. 87 is perfect for your motor which is not high compression. You are throwing money down the drain using it and potentially hurting your engine since the compression chamber does not get hot enough to burn all the gas/oil mixture when you use 93.. Please tell me you don't run it in your F150 too.
