Offshore
With the unusual warm weather for this time of year, the fishing has been good when you can get out to catch them; you just have to pick a day when the wind is not blowing so hard. Red grouper are being caught in sixty to seventy ft.,while the black grouper have moved closer into shore. Big gags are being caught in thirty to forty ft.
Between Dog Island and St. marks, dead bait such as cigar minnows, squid or elwy are good bets. If you can find live bait such as pinfish or squirrel fish , all the better as at times that seems to be all they will chew on.
In future reports we will be giving tips on how and where to find and catch the big ones. Stay tuned and good fishing!
