We got a late start. I took my #2 neighbor and two of his friends fishing for the second time. Great company. My wife had been gone for the last five days and forgot to look at the calendar to see I was gone coastal today. She understood. I t was just nice to smell her perfume and give her a hug this morning. I suck at laundry.

We stopped at Jerrys at about 0900 and got there hust in time to meet MJSigns and his son who were headed out to the same area. We exchanged pleasantries, his cracked ribs, my torn meniscus. My party bought squid, LY’s, and the 200 live shrimp special. We thought if it was smooth enough we could head somewhere between the birdrack and 24 to hunt grouper.

We put in at the fort, about 10 boats already there by 0930. River was smooth. Not bad at the LH. We headed out past the birdrack, wind out of the E at about 10. One mi. past the BR it was pretty choppy at 2-3’ Decided deeper water was a no go. Went due E of the birdrack and drifted in 2.5 – 4.0’ Caught shorts and a puffer. Decided to go to Cobb.

Got to Cobb and it was pretty good. Started about 150 yds south of cobb. Wind now out of the NNE. Caugh 50+ shorts in the 7â€

Nice report DB....As for the ramp...Me and Tom watched a guy with a similar problem...He just drug the boat off the trailer at the top of the ramp......to launch :o ...He was afraid his truck wouldn't make it back up......At least you caught it.....

Good Report DB -
Nice to finally meet you. Good thorough report.

Thanks DB- We did alright, we went out for some fun and had a blast.
On the way back in (1730) Tide was way way out and the wind had blown all the water away from the ramp. :o First thing I did when I got back to the ramp & tied the boat off, was to fill a 5 gallon bucket with 10lb of sand & oyster-grit and dump it all over the ramp to I didn't loose my truck or trailer pulling out of the water. I saw where others had left multiple skid marks all over the ramp. For once, Idid something right the first time.

I'll post more tomorrow because I am fatigued..
