I would like to thank all of those that responded to my request for info concerning the area fishing.
I decided to go down to St. Marks Lighthouse and try a little wading. I had a great trip, however it did not include the catching of any trout or redfish. My sons, 6 & 11 had a blast catching penfish on an ultralight on every cast. This allowed me and my brother to concentrate on fishing for something a litttle more substantial.
We tried several different things, however nothing seemed to work. Only a couple of bumps, and they were not that strong.
As I had ben told, this is a beautiful area and will warrant many returns. I will be in my pontoon next time and be able to cover alot more ground. At least I know where the kids can catch bait!! Learn something every trip.
Till next time, hope to see some of you there.
Thanks again for the help.

The St Marks light house is one more pretty place to me. I've never waded there...but it looks great for this.
I started taking my son fishing when he was 5-6 years old...and he is 45 now. We still go together, frequently, and the memories of all those trips....must have been a thousand....are burned into our merory. Went last Tuesday to Aucilla River...with him. It was beautiful.....didn't catch many...but he caught 3 reds....threw one back...and one was about a 5-6 pounder. We had a great time.
Those boys of yours will love this area. You will too.

We put in at 0900 seas were calm. We fished shrimp, jigs, top-water, and...hell, anything that caught our attention. And on that note we caught limit on "small trout" ( a few keepers ) and some whopper "cats"! but not long after a front started movin in and the seas got rough....We stuck it out, but based on our "keep/throw- back ratio" we headed for the hill
