St. Marks Channel Maintenance!!!

Just found out today that the St. Marks River Channel is scheduled for dredging in the next month. I do not know how far up the channel they are planning to go. But since this is the first time that I can remember them dredging, it may be some distance. Also watch out for shallower depths west of the channel over the old spoil areas!

Hey Powell & Redhead- -
I can find no legitimate notice to support any scheduled dredging activity on the St. Marks river channel. If such activity were going to take place, it would be published in the US Coastguard’s monthly "Notice to Mariners" report. If anything changes during the month they post periodic updates. Here is the most current Notice from the coast guard.

MJ- I got the info directly from the COE engineer doing the work. They are doing a lot of hurricane related dredging now. Expect work to be done in Apalachicola area too.
