Post by Gilligan »

Curious about a good flounder gigging place and time of year ? Thought
it might be a nice group outing for family and such ? Any suggestions
would be appreciated ...it's about the right time of year ? what kinda
tide and location might be good ?

My understanding is the flounder go to deeper water in the fall, especially in November....I think to do their spawning thing.....But I have heard of a few being caught here in the bay, though deeper water....I think summer is the time to gig flatties....

Usually spring and late summer.

Chalk, you should keep the shallows on the bay side of St. Andrews State Park in mind for some good gigging next season.
