Yeah, about that 7 day forecast vs the actual first day

Well in true to me fashion I tell the COO of course I'm going, I fished during Tropical Storm Nestor, and hes like thats too rough to fish and my response:

So of course were gonna go. We stopped at Jerry's for bait and heeded the warning:

Turns out its a good thing we went, we get to the ramp at shell point and start loading the boat and prepping for launch, well a local pulls up so we offer to back him in. Good thing we did because immediately after the maiden launch of this tunnel hull skiff it had to go back on the trailer as it was filling with water. But, luckily we got it remedied and he went on his way and we went to park the truck at the rental unit. We weren't in a big rush since I knew the morning wind was gonna blow literally and we got out around 1 and turned the corner to head out the channel to see it was still windy and choppy so no full throttle on Day 1. We run about halfway to our first planned spot and decide to fish some rocks at rotary reef. We pull up to the first one and it was beautiful compared to the boat running lol.

It looked far calmer in that picture than it was or maybe it did calm while we fished. Well, we started getting suspected sheepshead bites quickly and Bobby caught a very large grunt that was loaded with eggs. Problem was the grunt was foul hooked and bleeding and was being chased by 7 or so foot bull shark that was quite angry that it did not get to eat said grunt. And that wrapped up all the bites on that rock, so we moved on to what navonics showed as a clump of rocks near rotary, and it was loaded but not with what we wanted:

So I get to looking at the Humminbird instead of the Garmin and see were only a couple of miles from a spot I had marked from a previous trip to investigate. Now I had given the point to my fishing partner since he went sheepshead fishing 2 weeks ago and he swore there was nothing there. Around this time I get a phone call, our guests were supposed to land in Tallahassee at 5 so we were running out of time with only being able to run 28 or so. Well we gamble and run to this spot, we roll up and sure enough there was nothing. Well Bobby swears he ran side scan and still didn't find anything which tells me pawpaw needs to wear his contacts because once I fired up my SI low and behold, there's structure, the point is only off by about 20 yards. I drop the new quest in the water and spot lock us, and bam hes got a fish on:

A good one!

Then I hookup

So were in business!

But I guess I ran my mouth too much and Bobby starts catching while I keep loosing fish. Well then I find out the guests were planning on us meeting them in Tally for supper instead of them coming straight to Shell Point, so we had to get to catching for the time we had left. Well I finally got my funk knocked off and went back to catching
We needed one to finish the limit, so close we could taste it:
I catch him and proceed to chunk him in the livewell and a 16in sheepshead goes bouncing out of the boat so I had to listen to pawpaw gloat that he caught the last one to finish the limit.

He even continued to gloat at supper but Backwoods Crossing was excellent

Well Day 2 started more beautiful than Day 1 so after a run to Crums for more bait we headed out

We were able to at least run 32 out this morning and we rolled up back to the structure to see if the sheeps were still home and they were

Turns out Pawpaw ran his mouth too much and didn't have the same luck on Day 2 cause they were on fire

So on fire we were doing triples

Even managed to pull a tooth

And caught myself with a sheep from a boat flip

But it was worth it cause we had a limit by 1130

So we decided to troll for spanish with no luck with a limit of sheeps, we did manage a keeper sized Gag that went back into the drink and 2 blue runners. We decided to chunk out a blue runner on a line and 2 sharks decided to fight over it and cut us off. Of course then 3 cobia decide to swim by while we have nothing rigged up. At this point we decide to run in since we had plenty to clean. We got in early enough to get them all cleaned and make Georgios for supper with was quite good. With all those sheeps we even had sushi for kitty back home:
