Well, I have been fighting some sinus crap the past few days…Got up this morning and changed the rear brakes on the Explorer…Noticed the sun was out and the wind was calm….Hmmmmm….In the shower….Rods load in the truck and off to the redfish hole, solo….Arrive to the undisclosed location to find only a treasure hunter there….
I surveyed the area and noticed some small black animals in the water…. Once I got in the “coldâ€

Forgot to mention the 5 foot shark

......I wading to the west with the sun to my back so I can look for fish......I see this dark shadow coming my way...I think cobia, but really knew better.....see baitfish scatter and this black shadow just bolts and goes about 20 ft in 1 second

....It's about 5 foot shark...I cast to it with the C2 and it turns on it

....I regain my thoughts and say to myself, "Self your in the water and that shark just covered 20 ft in one second." I snatched the C2 out of the water and backed up slowly......I knew sharks could swim fast but that was a first hand experience...

I don't know why you had second thoughts about the shark. If you had hooked up, and the shark came toward you, I'm sure you could have beaten it off with one of your flip-flops.
How is the fly fishing coming?

Well....I have tied a few more flies, learned some new feathering techniques.....But

.....I started this sneezing crap the other day and it's either something down here or feather/deer hair.....I have not tied or touched any flies in few days....Once I get over this cold..I will start back and if I get sick again....I guess my fly tying might come to an end

...I have determined the Ebay fly reel I bought the other day is POS and I am saving up for better rig.....Looking at a Shimano reel and Lefty Kreh rod setup right now........

Great photos! I really want an in-expensive digital to carry on the water. I'd love even a clue about where you were over at Mexico Beach. When I'm in St Joe I try to sneak out to fish when I get an hour off from chasing the kids at the in-laws. An easy access wading spot would be more than great.
Also, I'm studying up a Hickory Mounds trip & I certainly haven't forgotten the clues you gave me for there. I'm hoping to visit soon.
I assume the Lefty Kreh is a Temple Fork. They sure do get great write-ups. I was thinking about the large arbor Okuma Integrity (I think) to go with it.

Lit...I use a Kodak digital, it was $100 last Xmas, proably cheaper now...I did spend and extra $50 for a 64 mb memory card, if not you will spend more in batteries, plus it goes from 30 or so pics to over 100....
---->
Yeah... I was referring to the Temple Fork rods....great warranty and they do receive good reports...I like the Shimano, but have been reading it is heavy and I can get two Integrities or Airframes off ebay for one Shimano..So I might go that route....
If you ever come down shoot me a message and maybe we can go fish...
