They look more than interesting and should certainly catch fish.
I had some old cedar wood "devon minnows" and they were deadly for any predatory fish.

Wow, that's some nice whittling! I've turned topwater plugs on a lathe before, but I never thought of whittling a lure.
I grew up in bass country (Cross Creek, just SE of Gainesville FL), and an old-timer down the road from me only fished topwater plug that he made himself. I still have about 30 of the plugs he and I made (mostly him), and they're the most effective topwater plugs I've ever used in freshwater.
I don't know if you're making them for ornamental reasons or for fishing, but you should definately give them a try.

p.s. You can make an awesome Rapala type plug out of a corn-cob.

I was thinking about giving them away at the last BBF social as door prizes. I need to get paint schemes down, Can't quite get the greenish/gold hue down. I have caught trought on the chugg looking thing and the brownish fish deal. Got a red on the crab that came off along side the boat. Crab is durn hard to make. I get to check action and depth in the 'cement pond' out back.
Expect to get one if I see any of you at the ramp. I need the feedback.
Chalk, that big white one is just for you, KW inspired form the "boys" er "Girls" er......

Nice work DB
I heard about making your own lures, but I have not tried it yet...

Way to go, DB. I tried to make a lure or two, when I was in the Boy Scouts. I didn't save them, but I wish I had..
They (yours) would look nice in a shadow box, if nothing else, but I expect you would catch something on most of them.. 'Don't think fish have any smarts to speak of. If it looks like something to eat, is the key.
Just like Chalk's fly tying, it's the sense of satifaction you get out of catching something on a lure you made.
The more you make, the better you'll get..
Speaking of creativity- Check this out.

I think that's a bit of an overkill.
