Hello Yall, It's been a long time since I have reported anything, But I read daily. My Buddie and I fished Chairs creek sunday morning. We got on the water at about 9:00am. The wind was out of the southeast, but not too strong. We pitched shrimp on 1/4oz jig heads most of the day. We caught 25 pup red between us, 10 short trout, and one keeper flounder. The tide changed at about 11:00am and the bite turned off. Off the water by 1:00pm. All in all it was a good day of fishing. Hey I got a lot of good pulls on the line and I didn't have to clean any fish or have the wife turn them down because she is scared of mercury poisining. We did keep our eyes out for any rabid pelicans!!!!

That sure is a pretty place, I'm surprised it doesn't hold bigger fish. We'll occasionally duck in there when the wind gets bad, but always wind up with shorts.

King, it's the quality of the fishing not the quanity of fish.
Actually, we all know, it's better to have it both ways.
'Preciate the good report...

No Wevans I didn't try by the oyster bars. I usually fish those bars when I go but they were just biting to good to leave even though they were almost all shorts. I have many times left fish biting to find bigger fish and not had another hook up all day. We were really trying to scout out that place.

Good report, DTK. Have you heard if any whiting or white trout have been caught over that way? They should be in deep holes in the river now.

Somebody take me up Chaires Creek! I am aimin' to go up there as far as possible! I hear there's a lost lake up there, maybe the remains of a wood foot bridge. And that your boat will get stuck at low tide or maybe at high tide and that the big ol' redfish might be there! I was slated to go up there last year right at this time, but the deal fell through and never got around to it. I better get a trolling motor on the 13'er!

No I haven't heard of any whiting or white trout in the river yet, But I don't usually ask or fish for them. You are right though they should be in. Also i too have heard about the Lost lake...I have just never traveled that far up the creek. Maybe all the Mayan gold is there!!!!! Bring a metal detector, pelican repelant, and a paddel.
