After reading recent post, I'm imbarassed to post mine. :( Left the fort around 0930 fog was thick as soup. Made it out to 26' to troll our first stop and only produced a short gag. Moved on to 40', trolled and bottom fished, nada :( . Moved to 50', bottom fished, water was not moving but we marked fish so we decided to troll for a while and try the bottom again. Nada on the trolling and nada on the bottom. Moved to 45' good bottom but could only get grunts to look at our bait. Tried LY's, cigar minows, squid and grunts.

Poor mans day on the water...but I wasn't at work  .

Final tally
1 short gag
1 short red
1 trigger fish
our limit of grunts (had to have something to show for all the fuel I burnt)

Any day on the water is better than a day at work.

Keep poking around out there. Eventually they'll bite.

Y'all don't tell anyone, but that's how I find a lot of my spots. I'll go to a spot, and if it doesn't produce, I throw a bait out, start riding, and watch the bottom reader. Considering all the riding I've done, my spots cost me about $300 each. :-?
